What's with all of this BP oil spill nonsense??

The question at hand is what do I think about this? I think this is absurd. BP needs to take responsibility for their systematic failures and flaws in not just their equipment but also their company! This should not still be going on, imagine how this will ultimately effect our ecosystem! The potential implications are frightening. I personally feel that boycotting BP is a good idea. Our gas prices are going to go up regardless so why waste the extra dollar a gallon at BP? These executives need to get out of their comfy offices and help in the clean up efforts as they insufficiently prepared for such a disaster.

  1. I agree with you when you say it is hurting the ecosystem. The wildlife is very beautiful down there and they should not be killed because of this oil spill. But I do disagree with you on boycotting BP. Yes, it is there fault but there is nothing they did to actually cause the oil spill. The company knows that it is their oil and everything but they did not make the oil start spilling. Regardless the gas prices are bound to rise even if we boycott BP.

  2. I agree with you that the prices are going to rise either way. With that being said I feel BP bears more responsibility than you give them. They had faulty equipment and knew it, they blew off failed inspections and KNEW that they were posing a risk to our ecosystem because they were unwilling to repair the issues with their equipment. I would feel differently if their equipment failed and they didn't even know there was a problem but they knew for at least 5 years and didn't want to spend the money because it was too costly to fix. Now because they were greedy our planet is in jeopardy; who knows what the end result of this will be? I don't think it is even possible to measure the potential damage that this has and is going to cause. It's a crying shame that this company was so money hungry that now we as an American public and our environment have to suffer. On the other hand I have gotten gas from BP companies twice since the spill because I don't believe that putting BP's lower employees in the unemployment line is going to solve the problem either but the people who blatantly ignored these issues need to be help personally accountable. Thanks for the response, take care.

  3. The oil companies did this. They control the gas priccoes either way... it's a sort of monopoly and they control it. By the way... you're a very well spoken you lady. Whoever your significant other maybe... he's one luckybastard.anyways...BP did rhis on purpose.
